DESCRIPTION
Our team (Dana, Leon, Rose) developed a concept attainment presentation on the topic of tsunami evacuation zone evacuation. The presentation and accompanying brochure goes the parameters on why tsunamis form in certain areas and ends with what you know about evacuation.
REFLECTION
Concept attainment... what an interesting concept. This class was actually the first that I'd heard of it. Thankfully, all of us were in together as a team. We decided on the tsunami evacuation theme (which I thought would be easy at first), but quickly racked our brains. The challenge was keeping the science accurate, using the concept attainment model, and having the visuals to back it up. We met as a team in Google Hangout to divvy up the tasks and presentation roles. The interactivity with polleverywhere really helped to keep the audience engaged. Overall, a great group effort. See how happy we were after the presentation. May the force be with you!

Are you providing the concept ahead of time already? I.e., that this has to do with evacuation? Or are you providing a topic area (like earthquakes) and then leading toward the reasons for evacuation?
A key element to your presentation will be the creative way in which you provide the exemplars. I will be interested to see what form your examples take for such elements as type, magnitude, etc.

I had no idea about all of the intricacies involved in whether or not you should evacuate from a tsunami. The concept attainment model was a perfect way of describing in a step by step manner whether or not one should evacuate. I also appreciate that you kept it lively with the polling through our cell phones... I'll definitely be using that in my future projects.
